Crownalytics files amended US antitrust claims in case over data analytics services

( May 30, 2023, 19:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Data analytics company Crownalytics filed an amended US complaint accusing rivals SPINS LLC, DAAP LLC and Information Resources of illegally conspiring to limit competition in the sale of data to manufacturers of natural and organic consumer packaged goods. According to the complaint, IRI and SPINS entered an arrangement expressly coordinating and combining their sale of data to those manufacturers of natural and organic consumer packaged goods through SPINS subsidiary DAAP. Subsequently, it said, they used the resulting market power to prohibit customers from dealing with Crownalytics, prohibit them from purchasing standalone software from Crownalytics to self-analyze their data, and to condition sales on an agreement either not to use other firms that compete in the market or to purchase their data analytics services.See document below. ...
