Texas Legislature sends consumer data privacy bill to governor

( May 30, 2023, 18:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Texas state Legislature has voted to send comprehensive consumer privacy legislation (HB 4) to Governor Greg Abbott. If signed, Texas will become the 10th US state, and the fifth this year, to enact a consumer data privacy bill that gives residents more control over their online data. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act also would require companies to recognize universal opt-out mechanisms to opt out of the sale of personal data for targeted advertising.  See document below....
