US DOJ reaches antitrust settlement with United, American, Alaska airlines on price-comparison software

( March 17, 1994, 20:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Six of the largest US airlines agreed in 1994 to a settlement with the US Department of Justice over their joint price-comparison software. American Airlines, Delta, Continental, Northwest, Trans World Airlines and Alaska Airlines agreed to the settlement over a price information system that was used to increase the cost of tickets by over $1 billion between 1988 and 1992, the DOJ said.See attached US DOJ press release....
