US auto trade group asks court to halt implementation of Massachusetts right-to-repair law

( May 25, 2023, 23:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US auto trade group Alliance for Automotive Innovation filed an emergency motion for temporary restraining order to stop the implementation of a Data Access Law in Massachusetts that mandates access to vehicle data for independent auto repair shops. Implementation of the law was previously suspended pending a lawsuit filed by the trade group but the attorney general recently announced the law will be implemented on or after June 1. The AAI argued that without the restraining order, its members “will suffer irreparable harm” because they will be required to “remove cybersecurity protections from their vehicles.” Filings are attached....
