By Mike Swift ( July 21, 2021, 22:39 GMT | Insight) -- Joseph James O’Connor, a 22-year-old UK man arrested today in Spain, faces US criminal charges that he was part of a scheme to hijack about 130 Twitter accounts last year, ranging from the accounts of Apple and Uber to Bill Gates and Kim Kardashian, in a scam intended to steal people's cryptocurrency.Last July, Twitter accounts owned by Apple and Uber Technologies, and by celebrities ranging from Bill Gates to Kim Kardashian, suddenly began exhorting millions of followers to send cryptocurrency payments to aid Covid-19 relief or to get more money back — a hacking scam US prosecutors say was committed in part by a UK man arrested today....
