Approval bid for Apple-targeted UK claim over iPhone performance adjourned by antitrust court

( May 25, 2023, 16:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A bid to certify for trial a class action over the performance of Apple's iPhone has been adjourned, the UK's antitrust court has said in a ruling. The Competition Appeal Tribunal said the class representative, Justin Gutmann, needs to plead the case with "more particularity." Gutmann is looking to front a group of as many as 25 million people in pursuit of 750 million pounds in damages. He alleges that Apple abused its market power by misleading customers over a 2017 software update that throttled the performance of the iPhone, harming consumers. Ruling attached....
