Romagna, Trento local health authorities get GDPR fines

( July 20, 2021, 15:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Local health authority Azienda Usl della Romagna has been fined 120,000 euros by the Italian data protection authority, for violating the GDPR's principles concerning integrity and confidentiality. Due to a software error, the authority had transferred the information about 48 voluntarily terminated pregnancies to third parties, despite the data subjects expressly opposing this, the regulator said. In a separate case, Azienda provinciale per i servizi sanitari di Trento, due to such a software error, disclosed reports about 175 terminated pregnancies to third parties, for which it received a fine of 150,000 euros.Statement follows in Italian.
