Minnesota legislature passes bill banning anticompetitive healthcare mergers

( May 21, 2023, 17:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Minnesota legislature passed a bill prohibiting health care transactions that “substantially lessen competition or tend to create a monopoly.” The law would apply to all mergers and acquisitions of healthcare organizations that have an annual average revenue of at least $80 million. The bill, which requires a signature from Governor Tim Walz, also requires data reporting on all transactions in which the healthcare entity has an average annual revenue between $10 million and $80 million.
