Slovenia takes step toward leaving Energy Charter Treaty

( November 10, 2022, 22:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Slovenian government has adopted an initiative to withdraw from the Energy Charter Treaty, saying “the commitments it entails are outdated.” The government has submitted this to the National Assembly for approval. The Charter offers protection to companies against governments’ acts that may put at risk profits from energy investments. Some EU countries, including France, have said they want to leave the treaty.Statement follows....
