US FTC case against HCA Healthcare, Louisiana Children’s Medical Center moved to Louisiana federal court

( May 24, 2023, 01:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Trade Commission's effort to halt the integration by Louisiana Children’s Medical Center of three hospitals it had acquired from HCA Healthcare will be moved to the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana from the US District Court for the District of Columbia, a judge ruled today. The hospitals had sought the move after a petition for injunctive relief was filed by the agency in April. "Notwithstanding the Commission’s interest in its selection of forum and the national interest in enforcing federal antitrust law, the Court finds in its discretion that this matter has a greater connection to Louisiana and the public interest factors outweigh the private interest factors," Judge Amy Berman Jackson said in her decision.See document below:...
