Irish wind-farm operators lose court challenge of reduced tax for fossil-fuel electricity producers

( November 17, 2022, 12:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Irish Wind Farmers’ Association and several such operators have lost their legal challenge to a lower tax rate applied to fossil-fuel electricity producers, the EU Court of Justice has said. Judges dismissed both grounds of their appeal. The first ground was in parts inadmissible as well as unfounded, the ECJ said. Concerning the second one, plaintiffs didn't demonstrate a distortion of facts by the General Court and didn't indicate precisely the evidence alleged to have been distorted, the ECJ said.The judgment is attached.
