Indonesia biofuel industry on antitrust regulator's radar for possible violations

( November 17, 2022, 03:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia's biofuel industry is already on the antitrust regulator's radar for possible violations, the Indonesian Competition Commission, or KPPU, said in response to palm oil farmers who went to its office this week to demand an investigation into the palm oil industry and the biodiesel program. KPPU said it received a complaint about alleged violations in the biodiesel sector in March, but that it needs more information and cooperation from the complainants to validate the report. At the same time, the regulator said it has submitted policy recommendations to the president on how to improve competition in the industry, such as by monitoring stocks through an open market information system.
