Automobile Bavaria gets Romanian GDPR fine over data security

( May 18, 2023, 16:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Romanian car importer Automobile Bavaria has been fined the equivalent of 18,000 euros by the national data protection authority, for violating the EU's General Data Protection Regulation. The company had failed to provide appropriate technical and organizational measures for data security, which resulted in unauthorized access to, and disclosure of, the data of around 290 customers — such as name, e-mail address, phone number, car purchase terms and payment method.
