EU Copyright Directive's content-filtering rule is compatible with EU law, legal opinion says

Poland had argued that the measure forces platforms to use automatic filters and leads to censorship. Advocate General Henrik Saugmandsgaard Øe said the Copyright Directive's Article 17 is compatible with freedom of expression rights in the EU's Charter of Fundamental Rights.Press release follows....
