Proposed EU cybersecurity rules should be toughened and clarified, EDPS says

In an opinion on a proposed regulation on cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements, the European Data Protection Supervisor welcomed the proposal's data security and minimization requirements, but said they should also include data protection by design provisions. Wojciech Wiewiórowski added that EU legislators should clarify that cybersecurity certification will not equate to GDPR compliance.Statement follows. The opinion is attached....
