US, Taiwan conclude negotiations on trade accord

( May 18, 2023, 21:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US and Taiwan have concluded negotiations on the US-Taiwan Initiative on 21st Century Trade under the auspices of the American Institute in Taiwan and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the US. The first agreement under the initiative covers the areas of customs administration and trade facilitation, good regulatory practices, services domestic regulation, anticorruption, and small and medium-sized enterprises. The agreement is expected to be signed in the coming weeks, and following the signing, the US and Taiwan will start negotiations on other trade areas.See statement below....
