Bouygues gets unconditional French approval for La Poste Telecom takeover

The regulator found that the deal led to a limited change in the structure of competition in the French mobile telephony retail market, due to La Poste Telecom's limited market shares and the presence of the mobile network operators Orange, SFR and Free. It also set aside concerns about the upstream wholesale market for access and call origination on mobile telephone networks, saying MVNO operators are protected by existing regulatory obligations, competition from other MNOs on the upstream market and the lack of incentive for Bouygues Telecom to implement such a strategy.Statement follows, in French....
