Canadian court publishes terms of remediation agreement with Ultra Electronics in bribery case

UEFTI agreed to pay roughly C$10.5 million to resolve allegations the technology firm bribed Filipino officials to expedite a contract, prosecutors said. It marked the first remediation agreement struck with Canadian prosecutors since the authority to enter one came into effect in 2018, the prosecution service said. As a result of the agreement, akin to deferred prosecution agreements in the US, the case is stayed and the charges will be withdrawn when the company fulfills its obligations. Statement follows below:...
