Sckipio drops Section 1782 request in US for Nokia to produce information relevant in German SEP dispute

By Melissa Ritti ( August 15, 2024, 19:58 GMT | Insight) -- Nokia Technologies Oy has defeated a bid by Sckipio Technologies S.I. for an order directing Nokia to share information Sckipio needs to negotiate a standard essential patent, or SEP, license with Telekom Deutschland in Germany.  Earlier today Sckipio dismissed, without prejudice, the application it filed last month pursuant to 28 USC 1782. Potential litigation in Germany over an alleged standard essential patent, or SEP, owned by Sckipio Technologies S.I. and utilized in the “Super-Vectoring” broadband internet service offered by Telekom Deutschland, or DT, may or may not come to fruition — but if it does, Nokia Technologies Oy won’t play a part....
