Ohio legislators introduce consumer privacy bill

( July 13, 2021, 20:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Ohio state legislators have introduced HB 376, the Ohio Personal Privacy Act, aimed at giving consumers new rights over their online data, including data transparency, access, correction, deletion, portability, opt-out of sales, and non-discrimination rights. The proposal also encourages Ohio businesses to adopt the National Institute of Standards and Technology Privacy Framework as a standard for developing a privacy program. The Ohio attorney general would enforce the OPPA, and there would be no private right of action for consumers. See document below....
