Cummins' $3.7 billion global acquisition of Meritor filed for merger clearance in India

Both Cummins and Meritor have a presence in India in the manufacturing and supply of automotive components through subsidiaries but said there were no horizontal, vertical or complementary relationships. The review is likely to be delayed in India while the Competition Commission of India waits for the government to appoint a new chairperson to make up the three-member quorum the regulator needs to make decisions.
