Bank Panin, Jhonlin Baratama tax consultants charged with bribery in Indonesia

( November 10, 2022, 04:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesian prosecutors have separately indicted Veronika Lindawati, a former executive of Bank Panin, and Agus Susetyo, a tax consultant for mining services company Jhonlin Baratama, for bribing tax officials to reduce the tax audit amounts for their respective companies. Prosecutors said Veronika agreed to give tax officials 25 billion rupiah ($1.6 million) but only ended up giving them S$500,000 ($360,000) in mid-2018, while Agus Susetyo gave the tax officials S$3 million on behalf of Jhonlin Baratma.
