The newly consolidated market supervisor underwent a smooth transition, with progress made in the formulation of legislation and the roll-out of enforcement activities over the course of 2019, but challenges remain as SAMR enters 2020. Last year saw China's antitrust enforcement agencies continue to reform from top to bottom, after the State Administration for Market Regulation, or SAMR, took over the country's antitrust functions previously performed by three different government bodies in 2018....
