Dutch veto of Bergman-Mauritskliniek merger overturned by Rotterdam court

( May 12, 2023, 12:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Rotterdam District Court said in a ruling issued today that it has overturned the Dutch competition authority's prohibition of a merger between specialist medical-care providers Bergman Clinics and Mauritskliniek. In the court's view, the decision wasn't sufficiently substantiated, therefore it annulled the decision. The competition authority had blocked the deal in 2021, finding it would further strengthen Bergman Clinics’ position in negotiations with health insurers and thus lead to price increases.The ruling is attached (in Dutch). ...
