CADE investigators recommend fines for defendants in electric equipment cartel probe

( April 9, 2018, 21:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Brazilian antitrust investigators have recommended that Inducon do Brasil Capacitores, Inepar Energia, Laelc Reativos, Schneider Electric Brasil, Toshiba do Brasil, Trafo Equipamentos Elétricos, Weg and 21 individuals face fines for participating in an alleged electric equipment cartel, according to a statement today. They also recommended that the probe involving those that reached settlements in the case be closed, including Alstom Brasil Energia e Transporte and VA Tech Transmissão e Distribuição. The case will be sent to the governing Tribunal of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense, or CADE, for a ruling following the Superintendence's recommendations.CADE statement follows in Portuguese:...
