Re Sustainability secures India nod for waste-management demerger

( August 6, 2024, 23:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Restructuring of India's largest waste management company Re Sustainability received merger clearance from the antitrust watchdog on Tuesday. The proposed combination envisages the demerger of Re Sustainability's municipal solid-waste and waste-to-energy businesses into a newly formed subsidiary, Ramky Sustainability Solutions. The parties told the Competition Commission of India that the proposed transaction doesn't envisage the transfer of Re Sustainability’s business to any third party, nor the acquisition of any new business by either parties. The demerger is expected to optimize business operations and allow for greater efficiency, and would not raise any competition concerns in any of the relevant markets....
