NTT Docomo-NEC joint venture approved without remedies in Chile

( August 5, 2024, 17:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Chile's National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE) approved a joint venture between NTT Docomo Inc. and NEC Corp., despite initial concerns about vertical market overlaps. The new entity will combine NTT Docomo's telecommunications expertise with NEC's technology in a bid to enhance the deployment of 5G networks. Despite some overlap, the FNE found that NEC's market share in related components is relatively small, and there are multiple alternative suppliers in the market.
