In Grepar-Lubnor deal, CADE rejects third-party requests to join in review

( October 19, 2022, 20:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Brazilian competition agency has rejected requests from five companies and two associations, including Asfaltos Nordeste and Stratura Asfaltos, to participate in the review of the planned acquisition of Mucuripe Refinery, known as Lubnor, by Grepar Participações. Other companies include Emulsões e Transportes, Iconic Lubrificantes and Holding GV. Associations that asked to participate in the review are the Brazilian Association of Asphalt Distributors (Abeda) and the National Association of Petroleum Workers Minority Shareholders of Petrobras (Anapetro). The agency's reasons for rejecting the requests involve failure to meet the deadline, failure to justify how a decision in the case would affect their interests, and failure to submit documents to support their allegations.CADE decision is attached....
