Grab Philippines fined yet again for violating pricing, service-quality commitments

( December 18, 2019, 01:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Ride-hailing platform Grab has received another 16.15 million peso ($319,000) fine from the Philippine Competition Commission for more violations of the commitments it signed on to as a condition for the approval of its merger with rival Uber last year. In the fourth quarter of the initial one-year monitoring period, from May 11 to Aug. 10, Grab was fined 14.15 million pesos for extraordinary deviations on its pricing commitment, and 2 million pesos for exceeding driver cancellations at 7.76 percent instead of the committed 5 percent.
