CADE preliminary inquiry of Google postponed

( April 5, 2018, 19:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Brazilian antitrust authority said it needs more time before deciding whether to open a formal investigation into whether Google is sidestepping the logic of Yelp's own algorithm to divert traffic away from rival services, according to a statement in the case file. The Administrative Coucil for Economic Defense, or CADE, said that it still has to analyze responses from Yelp, Google and other players in the probe in order to decide its next steps. CADE has 180 days, which may be extended another 60 days, to conclude a preliminary inquiry.
