Ukraine-Russia gas transit deal not reached yet, Naftogaz says

( December 16, 2019, 14:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- A post-2019 transit deal for Russian gas directed to the EU and passing through Ukrainian territory hasn’t been reached yet, Ukraine’s state-owned energy company Naftogaz has said. The current contract expires at the end of the year. Negotiations between the two parties mediated by the European Commission continue at the expert level, the company said. Statement follows. No gas transit deal agreed between Ukrainian and Russian sides yet; negotiations continue. 16 December 2019, Kyiv – Naftogaz informs that no deal on Russian gas transit through Ukraine after 2019 has been agreed in negotiations with Gazprom at the moment. The parties continue negotiations at the level of experts as well as in the trilateral format mediated by the European Commission.
