Japan's Nissan, Honda agree to conduct research on software-defined vehicle platforms

( August 1, 2024, 08:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japanese automakers Nissan Motor and Honda Motor said today they’ve agreed to conduct joint research in fundamental technologies for next generation software-defined vehicles. The two companies aim to complete basic research in about a year, and based on the results, consider the possibility of mass production. Also today, Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi Motors signed a MOU under which they will study a partnership in environmental and electrification technologies, as well as software development. The partnership of the three Japanese automakers comes at a time of amid rapid development of emerging mobility, which requires large capital investments. The statements are attached....
