Australian government harmed immigration detainees' privacy, watchdog finds

In a statement released today, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner said it had investigated Department of Home Affairs’ 2014 publication of a detention report, which contained embedded personal information that enabled all those in detention on Jan. 31 of that year to be identified.
