Water services provider company gets Italian GDPR fine

( October 24, 2022, 14:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Servizio Idrico Integrato, a company managing the water service in the Province of Terni, in the Umbria region of Italy, has been fined 15,000 euros for violating the General Data Protection Regulation. The national data watchdog fined the company for using an insecure network protocol on its website where personal data, such as customer names, telephone numbers and email addresses, were accessible. The invoices could also be viewed and downloaded, the regulator added.
