Brazilian banks' credit bureau joint venture approved with conditions

The Tribunal of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense, or CADE, reached the decision after review of the planned joint venture between Banco Bradesco, Banco do Brasil, Santander Brasil, Caixa Econômica Federal and Itaú Unibanco to form a credit bureau that would collect information about consumers' financial history for use by credit providers.Plans by five Brazilian banks to create a joint credit database received antitrust approval in Brazil subject to conditions....
