The regulator also assessed the impact of Faurecia's earlier purchase of Plastal Germany, a deal already cleared by the commission but concluded less than two years ago meaning it needed to be re-assessed in light of the current transaction.The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of the Spanish subsidiary of the car components maker Plastal Holding AB of Sweden by Faurecia SA, a car component producer and subsidiary of the French car manufacturer Peugeot. After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it....
