Qube-Mirrat port-terminal deal will be reviewed by Australia's competition regulator

( June 28, 2024, 06:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The acquisition of Melbourne International RoRo & Auto Terminal at the Port of Melbourne by Qube Holdings through its wholly owned Australian subsidiary Amalgamated Terminals will come under an informal review by the Australian competition regulator. In a statement, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said it would accept submissions on the proposed deal until July 12, setting the provisional deadline for a decision for Sept. 20, 2024. In a market inquiries letter, the watchdog said it would consider whether the deal would result in Qube having the ability or incentive to favor its own businesses.
