Google announces changes to Privacy Sandbox, citing impact on digital ads sector

( July 22, 2024, 21:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google is altering its plans to phase out third-party cookies online, citing the impact the change would have on digital advertising. "We are proposing an updated approach that elevates user choice," Google's vice president for Privacy Sandbox, Anthony Chavez, said in a blog. "Instead of deprecating third-party cookies, we would introduce a new experience in Chrome that lets people make an informed choice that applies across their web browsing, and they’d be able to adjust that choice at any time." The company said it's discussing the plans with regulators. Blog follows. ...
