Precision Airmotive bid for lost profits in trademark row rightly rejected under but-for causation standard, US panel says

In their ruling this week the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit applied — but did not explicitly endorse — “but-for” causation in upholding a denial of Precision’s bid for $8,929,582 million in lost profits, however.Aircraft engine manufacturer Avco Corp. is on the hook for $264,818 in disgorged profits for hiring a fuel system overhauler and repair company to develop servos that were affixed with Precision Airmotive LLC’s “RS” and “RSA” trademarks....
