Google says UK settlement offer would give more choice over in-app billing and lower fees

( April 19, 2023, 09:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google has said it will allow app developers in the UK to replace Google's in-app billing system with another payment processor, in a bid to settle an antitrust inquiry. Developers will also be able to place a different offering alongside Google Play’s billing system, giving users a choice. Where app developers replace Google's in-app billing system, they will see their app store fee on sales reduced by 3 percent, whereas if they place an alternative alongside Google's service, the reduction will be 4 percent.The statement follows....
