X loses bid to block California social media content moderation policy disclosure requirements

( December 28, 2023, 18:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A federal judge in Sacramento, California has denied a bid by X Corp. for a preliminary injunction blocking the enactment of a California law that requires X and other social media companies to file twice a year reports about their policies and statistics in blocking hate speech or racism, extremism or radicalization, disinformation or misinformation, harassment, and foreign political interference. "Because the court finds for the following reasons that plaintiff has failed to establish the likelihood of success on the merits, the motion must be denied," US District Judge William Shubb wrote in the order.See attached document....
