Quick financial relief for gas consumers is needed to tackle price crisis, German expert commission says

( October 10, 2022, 15:22 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: An expert commission tasked by the German government to make recommendations on how to deal with the gas price crisis caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine has presented its preliminary report. Financial relief to affected consumers should be granted as soon as possible, at the latest by the end of this year, the report says. In the coming winter, Germany should reduce its gas consumption by 20 percent.
