EU's Data Governance Act mustn't undermine personal data protection, Germany's VZBV says

( January 15, 2021, 12:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU's ambition to make non-personal data more easily available is a step in the right direction, and also from a competition viewpoint, Germany's consumer federation has said in a position paper on the Data Governance Act. Also, any new regulation should face a checkup to see how it can be differentiated from the GDPR, and whether it offers added value to consumers and businesses, the VZBV said.
