Orthofix spends $6.1 million on FCPA work, nears deal with SEC

( October 31, 2016, 20:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Orthofix International, a Texas-based maker of orthopedic devices, said that it had spent $4.6 million in the second quarter of 2016 and $1.5 million in the third quarter on a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act case involving actions of foreign subsidiaries. Orthofix resolved the case with the US Department of Justice when its deferred prosecution agreement expired this summer, with the charges dismissed. Orthofix said it is still in discussions with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on the matter, although it cited an agreement in principle.Excerpt of SEC filing follows....
