Lithuanian rail incumbent asks EU court to award default interest on reduced antitrust fine

( October 12, 2022, 08:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Lietuvos Geležinkeliai, the Lithuanian rail incumbent, is seeking to obtain more than 850,000 euros in default interest from the European Commission after an EU antitrust fine was reduced, the company said today in a hearing at the EU’s General Court. The request rests on the Printeos judgment, which granted that company default interest after its antitrust fine was annulled. The commission draws a line between both cases, and considers that Lietuvos Geležinkeliai should have brought an action for annulment of the repayment decision, instead of an action for damages.See hearing report attached....
