Google says there's 'no excuse' for US DOJ to offer new privacy-focused expert in monopoly suit

( October 10, 2022, 04:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google asked a US federal court to exclude the report and testimony of an "untimely disclosed expert" offered by the US Department of Justice's antitrust division. The DOJ offered new expert witness Kirsten Martin for her opinions on privacy issues which, according to Google, are "entirely unconnected" to the opinions offered by DOJ's witnesses in the opening round of reports. "There is no excuse for DOJ Plaintiffs offering a new privacy-focused expert in the third and final round of expert reports," Google told the US District Court for the District of Columbia. The agency's failure to disclose Martin earlier requires that her opinions be struck, it said.See attached document....
