China requests WTO dispute consultations on Australian anti-dumping, countervailing measures

( June 30, 2021, 00:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China has initiated a World Trade Organization dispute complaint against Australian anti-dumping and countervailing measures put in place on wind towers, stainless sinks and railway wheels. In an update from the WTO, China has made a formal request to begin WTO dispute consultations with Australia relating to the measures. China announced last week that it would be filing the trade dispute, which relates to measures that data back to 2014 and 2015 for wind towers and stainless-steel sinks respectively and 2019 for railway wheels. If consultations fail to resolve the dispute after 60 days of China's request, then China may request adjudication by a panel.The full statement from the WTO follows: ...
