Australia-based OceanaGold to acquire Canada’s Romarco Minerals

( July 31, 2015, 09:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: OceanaGold Corporation has agreed to acquire all the issued and outstanding common shares of Romarco Minerals Inc. for C$856 million ($660 million). Romarco’s principal asset is the Haile Gold Mine located in the US state of South Carolina, a high-grade open pit project currently under construction that represents one of the premier gold development assets globally. The combination of OceanaGold and Romarco is expected to create the lowest cost gold producer in the market, and will give existing OceanaGold and Romarco shareholders approximately 51 percent and 49 percent of the combined company, respectively.The company's full statement is attached....
