While the Productivity Commission, Australia’s top economic advisor, has the potential to provide solutions for multiple markets with its inquiry, observers may recall a 2018 banking-industry probe as a verbal takedown that remains to bear fruit. The right to repair study may end up being just another pile of paper. Today’s cars contain more computer coding than is used to operate the avionics and onboard systems of modern airlines. Drivers don’t get behind the wheels of cars today, so much as get behind the inner workings of computers....
