Senators Wyden, Paul come out against CLOUD Act

( March 14, 2018, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Senators Ron Wyden and Rand Paul wrote to Senators Thad Cochran and Patrick Leahy urging them to not include the proposed Clarifying Lawful Overseas Use of Data Act, or CLOUD Act, in a forthcoming appropriations bill. The letter says that while the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty process has its faults, “the CLOUD Act places far too much power in the president’s hands and denies Congress its critical oversight role.”See document below....
